Warangal: The district Congress leaders have been gearing up for the ‘Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra’, scheduled to be arrived into erstwhile Warangal district on April 3, with TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy at the lead.

As per the schedule released by the district Congress here on Wednesday, the yatra will enter into Bhupalpally Assembly constituency on April 3. It will tour in Station Ghanpur and Palakurthy constituencies on April 4.

The TPCC chief will tour Narsampet segment on April 5, Parkal and Warangal (West) on April 6, Dornakal and Mahabubabad on April 8, Mulug on April 9 and Wardhannapet Assembly segment on April 10, where a meeting with party workers will also be held.

Meanwhile, the meeting of district leaders with the TPCC chief at Gandhi Bhawan in Hyderabad on Wednesday to discuss the arrangements for the yatra witnessed heated discussions on the appointment of PCC secretaries in Warangal (East) constituency.

District Congress president N Rajender Reddy, City Congress president Katla Srinivas Rao and its working president Rajanala Srihari, MLA D Madhava Reddy, leaders, G Venkata Ramana Reddy, P Balram Naik, ex-MLAs Seetakka, P Sridhar, V Narender Reddy, P Veeraiah attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Srihari, who represents Warangal (East), strongly objected appointment of Warangal (West) leaders Errabelli Swarna and Katla Srinivas Rao as the PCC secretaries from Warangal (East).

He demanded the party leadership immediate replacement of them with the local leaders. Appointing the leaders from other constituency as PCC secretaries has been creating confusion among the workers in Warangal (East), he complained.

Uttam Kumar Reddy, who responded positively to the demand, said the Bus Yatra will be conducted in Warangal (East) after making changes in PCC appointments. MLA Madhava Reddy also objected appointing his constituency leaders as in-charges in Chhattisgarh state without his knowledge.

Meanwhile in Hanamkonda, former mayor Errabelli Swarna has convened a meeting of the party seniors to make arrangements for the Bus Yatra. She appealed them to mobilise huge numbers of public for the yatra in Warangal (West) and make it a success.

The yatra will help to exhibit Congress strength and to expose the ruling TRS’s failure in delivering its election promises.

The workers on the other hand asked Swarna to take the injustice being caused to Warangal (West) leaders to the notice of the TPCC chief. Ex-corporators Ramana Reddy, BC cell state coordinator B Laxman and others attended the meeting.
