The two-day Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET)-2018 has begun on a smooth note at 14 regional centres in AP and Telangana on Wednesday. The test conducted for admission into MBA and MCA courses offered by universities across the State is being conducted by Kakatiya University for the eighth consecutive year. 

Warangal: The two-day Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET)-2018 has begun on a smooth note at 14 regional centres in AP and Telangana on Wednesday. The test conducted for admission into MBA and MCA courses offered by universities across the State is being conducted by Kakatiya University for the eighth consecutive year.

TSICET-2018 is being conducted in online mode as the authorities decided to do away with offline mode of test this year onwards. A total of 61,439 candidates applied for the test, with male-32,683, female-28,751 and five transgender candidates. There are 56 examination centres in Telangana and four in Andhra Pradesh. For the first time, the test is also conducted in Urdu medium.

The test is conducted in two sessions on Wednesday at 12 regional centres in AP and TS, at which 89.1 per cent candidates appeared for the test in first session and nearly 90 per cent in second session. In Warangal, the test is conducted at eight examination centres where 93.26 and 92.17 per cent attendance is recorded in first and second sessions respectively informed the ICET convener Prof A Subrahmanya Sarma.

University Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna, the test convener Prof Sarma, special observers T Ramesh, S Mahender Reddy, V Ramchandram, P Sadanandam, Y Venkaiah and S Narasimha Chary visited the test centres, KITS Warangal and ION College at Erragattu area.

There will be only one session on Thursday, informed the convener adding that about 60 observers, two special squads and one technical team engaged to ensure smooth conduct of the test. The students can obtain their response sheet 48 hours after appearing for the test.

The preliminary key will be released on May 27 and candidates can submit their objections, if any, on the key by June 4 on which the announcement of final key will take place and the test results will be released on June 6, Prof Sarma revealed.
