Ravuri is pride of Telugu people: Vatti

Eluru (West Godavari): Vatti Vasanth Kumar, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Youth Services and Sports, has expressed happiness over eminent Telugu writer Ravuri Bharadwaja being chosen for the prestigious Jnanpith Award. It is the third time that a Telugu man was chosen for the Jnanpith Award, the highest distinction in the field of literature, he said in a statement on Thursday. The Minister greeted Ravuri at Hyderabad on Thursday. He said that the writer Ravuri, who studied only up to eighth standard has some of the best literary works to his credit. He is the pride of Telugu people, he stated. Some of his works-'Pakudu Rallu'and 'Kadambari', -have been translated into English and various other Indian languages.
