We have made all arrangements for web counselling that will be held in over 50 centres across the state. It will start off with certification verification. "With this web counselling system, students can get their certificate verification done at any of the web counselling centres, but it's mandatory for students belonging to special category like physically handicapped, sports, NCC to get their certificate verification done at Sanketika Vidya Bhavan, Masab tank, Hyderabad," says Dr K Raghunath, Chief Eamcet Counselling Camp officer.

When students turn up for the registration, they will be issued with scratch card. "This scratch will be helpful while selecting colleges and courses. This scratch card shouldn't be handed over to any one, there may chances of tampering of options," says the Counselling Camp Officer.

With seats out numbering number of students applied in the engineering stream, many students are on in dilemma over as to which course and college they should opt for. When seats are outnumbering the students in a particular stream, in such situations students need to take utmost care while choosing the college and the course. The best way to choose college and course is to take feedback from the students who have already studied there.

Besides feedback, one has to check out the lab facilities that a college has. With regarding medical admissions, based on the rank students need to prioritise their streams like MBBS, BDS, AGBSc, Pharmacy, Pharma-D. "Keeping them apart, students should take course of their choice. Parents should not pressurise them to opt for particular stream," says Ramana Reddy, Career Consultant.

Right now engineering field offers numerous courses, for some it is difficult to choose. Students have to decide their course depending on the strength that he/she had in intermediate. "ECE is evergreen subject apart from that core branches like mechanical has more demand. Courses like mining, biotech, petroleum engineering even these courses have good opportunities for the student," says Ram Mohan Rao, Career Consultant.

Not just sticking to the Eamcet, many students opt for other entrance exams as well. "If a student gets a seat in Eamcet and also in IIT's or BITS. They can cancel their admission by approaching convener. All the certificates and fee will be given back to them, but they should first take seat in Eamcet, says Dr K Raghunath, Eamcet Counselling Camp officer. For selecting the colleges and courses, he adds, "Students shouldn't opt for the course in which he/she is not interested. While selecting the college, proximity of the college is one thing that a student should think off.

While answering to the fee structure, he says "Decision is yet to be taken. Series of discussions are being held by the policy makers. Probably by June 12 or 13, there would be some clarity on fee. Management seats will be filled as per GO 66 and 67.
