Last date for registration September 26
Registration to the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013, for entrance to institutes of management studies, with the new option this year of purchasing vouchers electronically began on Monday, an official statement said. The registration process for CAT 2013 will be held from Aug 5 to Sep 26. "New to this year's CAT candidates have an option to purchase vouchers electronically.
We hope this new point of purchase brings added convenience to the registration process," said the statement.
The vouchers can also be procured from some branches of Axis Bank. The voucher costs Rs.1600 for general and Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates, and Rs.800 for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and physically disabled candidates.
"The students will be required to fill the voucher details, educational history, mark sheets, work experience details and the list of Indian Institute Of Management (IIM) programmes they will be applying for," the statement said.
The CAT examination will be held Oct 16 to Nov 11 in 40 cities around the country. CAT 2013 will have only two sections: quantitative ability and data interpretation; and verbal ability and logical reasoning.
The examination will be of 140-minute duration, and the candidates will have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions within each section, which will have an on-screen countdown timer. Candidates take the CAT examination to gain entry to the Indian Institutes of Management and several other management institutes.
