NMIMS Hyderabad holds Corporate Conclave

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Hyderabad conducted their seventh edition of Corporate Conclave, the flagship event of NMIMS Hyderabad on Saturday. The event is a platform between students and the industry to exchange and share their views on diverse topics of contemporary interests. The theme for the Seventh Edition of Corporate Conclave was “Employee Engagement”.
The event witnessed eminent speakers from the industry namely George Matthews, Senior Manager HR at ADP and Deepti Verma, Senior Manager-Human Resources, Amazon.

George addressed the basics of employee engagement. He highlighted major challenges, issues and successes of engaging employees. He emphasised the need for on - ground implication of results from employee satisfaction surveys. Deepti Verma projected the need for understanding employees even before they join the organisation. She opined that employee engagement is a state of emotional and intellectual commitment to the organisation. She spoke of 3S - Say, Stay and Strive that govern the aspects of an engaged employee. She also stressed the need for line managers to be the torch-bearers of employee engagement.

The speakers actively and patiently addressed the Q&A session. Various contemporary issues were discussed with active examples from industry.

The session enriched the student’s knowledge about employee engagement and variables that improve and depreciate the function.
