The student union elections at University of Hyderabad are likely to be held in the first week of September. The general body meeting is convened on August 23 where the election committee will be elected. This committee is responsible for holding of polls in accordance of norms of the university. The recent tragedy in the university premises where a student of linguistics- Mohini Mishra- has fallen to death from the fourth floor of an under-construction building, will be one of the election issues, according to some students. Acting tough, the V-C Prof R Ramakrishnan has suspended six students who happened to be with Mohini on the fateful night. The student bodies may raise the issue of freedom of movement inside the campus.
