The Mumbai LitFest that earned the reputation of being an important national event for writers, readers, publishers and others who belong to the world of books completed its six days of celebrations of the ‘written, spoken and performed word’ on November 2 at the famous Prithvi theatre at Juhu along with the Tata NCPA theatre at Churchgate.

The awards:

Lifetime Achievement Award: M T Vasudevan Nair, legendary Malayalam author, scriptwriter and film director.

Poet Laureate Award: Joy Goswami, the prolific Bengali poet.

First Book Award (Fiction): The Smoke Is Rising by Mahesh Rao.

First Book Award (Non-Fiction): A Southern Music-The Karnatik Story by T M Krishna.

Book of the Year Award (Fiction): Arctic Summer by Damon Galgut.

Book of the Year Award (Non-Fiction): Capital - The Eruption of Delhi by Rana Dasgupta. Business Book Award: Orbit-Shifting Innovation-The Dynamics of Ideas that Create History by Rajiv Narang/DevikaDevaiah Mumbai-based writer and columnist, Anil Dharker presented the Tata Literature Awards at the NCPA experimental theatre to felicitate the best literary works of the year.
