Indulging in physical exercise without healthy food will not be helpful. Similarly, think of reading and listening as input to your brain and speaking and writing as output from your brain. You can get more input to your brain by reading and listening. Read from a variety of topics, expressive styles and authors. Don’t restrict yourself to a single author or topic.
To improve your communicative ability, there are three significant steps involved in the process. Learn, Apply and Improvise. By reading and watching you will learn but you have to apply what you learn by speaking and listening to real people. And when you start applying what you learn frequently you try to improvise. That’s the way to improve.
For people who do not have anyone in their surroundings to practise their speaking, there are websites to help language learners speak online with other learners. The way anything is developed is through practice, practice and more practice. Keep practising. Tomorrow’s victory is today’s practice.
To die for !
Goutham Do you have room for ice cream ?
Girija Yes, indeed. I think I'll go for the Homemade Butter Scotch.
Goutham All right, let's get that.
Girija Wait a minute. The Homemade Kulfi sounds scrumptious.
Goutham I changed my mind. I'll go for that, too.
Girija Hold on ! I heard their Lemon cake is to die for.
