Hyderabad: Academia Sports Village, which is in the forefront of supporting and promoting multi sports disciplines, made its debut to take the ensuing Hyderabad Football League (HFL) 2019-2020 by storm.

Having trained young talent, particularly in football and tennis, by coaches of international stature, it is now jumping onto the competitive field with a team of its own.

HFL has caught the attention of the football community with its excellent organisational acumen and for slotting itself as a tournament that exclusively promotes local talent, unlike ISL and other premier championships that have an overwhelming international flavour.

It is a privilege for all of us at Academia Sports Village to debut in HFL when its 4th Season began in Hyderabad on November 9 (Saturday). It has acquired the champion outfit that is geared up to make it a hat-trick of title triumphs this time around.

It has now been christened as Sports Village Football Club (SVFC). The fortunes of the team will be spearheaded by one of the best known contemporary players, Zubair Bin Sultan, who is a veteran of three Santosh Trophy championships.

A player of proven experience, he donned national colours in the high-profile Neymar Jr's Red Bull Championship 2017, where he stood out with his exemplary performances.

SVFC is sponsored by the happening real estate player, Status One Projects, thanks to the personal involvement of its Managing Director and CEO, Mohammed Ilyasuddin Khan, who is a passionate sports enthusiast.

He intends to support sports talent from the city across various disciplines.

Zubair Bin Sultan has knit a cohesive Sports Village FC outfit that will feature in the season opener on Saturday.
