Apple Sets WWDC 2026 for June 8: New Siri, iOS 27 and More in Focus
In Short
Apple’s WWDC 2026 begins June 8 with expectations of AI-powered Siri, iOS 27 updates, and Tim Cook’s final keynote.

Apple has officially announced the dates for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, scheduled to run from June 8 to June 12. The event will begin with the keynote presentation at 10 am PDT (10:30 pm IST) on June 8 and is expected to showcase the company’s next-generation software updates, artificial intelligence advancements, and developer tools.
The tech giant confirmed on its official website that WWDC 2026 will bring together developers to “explore the tools, frameworks, and technologies” required to create fresh experiences across Apple platforms. More than 1,000 developers, designers, and students have reportedly been invited to attend the conference.
Apple has also sent invitations to media representatives for an in-person keynote viewing at Apple Park in California. This year’s event carries additional significance as it is expected to be the final WWDC led by CEO Tim Cook before leadership transitions to John Ternus on September 1.
Keynote and Developer Sessions
The WWDC 2026 keynote will be streamed live through Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and the company’s official YouTube channel. Apple has hinted that the event will unveil major updates across its ecosystem, although full details remain under wraps.
Following the keynote, Apple will host its Platforms State of the Union session, offering developers a more detailed look at the technologies and features powering Apple’s software ecosystem. The company will also provide online video sessions, developer guides, and live Group Labs where engineers will answer technical questions.
Apple’s annual Design Awards will return as well, with 36 finalists selected across categories including “delight and fun,” “social impact,” and “visuals and graphics.” Winners are expected to be announced during the conference week.
Additionally, Apple plans to host a special three-day experience for 50 winners of its Swift Student Challenge, an initiative aimed at encouraging young developers and coders.
What to Expect at WWDC 2026
One of the biggest highlights anticipated this year is Apple’s revamped Siri experience. Reports suggest the company has been working extensively on upgrading Siri, potentially integrating Gemini-powered AI capabilities. The updated assistant is expected to become more conversational and chatbot-like, similar to platforms such as ChatGPT.
The new Siri is likely to debut as part of iOS 27, which Apple is also expected to unveil during the event. While dramatic design changes may not be introduced, users could see interface refinements and smarter AI-driven functionality.
Alongside iOS 27, Apple is also expected to reveal updates for MacOS 27, iPadOS 27, VisionOS 27, and other software platforms.
Last year’s WWDC generated widespread discussion around Apple’s Liquid Glass interface theme for iOS 26, while Apple Intelligence dominated the conversation during WWDC 2024. This year, the focus appears set to shift heavily toward artificial intelligence and Siri’s transformation.
Where to Watch
Viewers can watch the WWDC 2026 keynote live on Apple’s official website, Apple TV app, and YouTube channel. Additional sessions, including the Platforms State of the Union, will be available through Apple’s developer website and YouTube platforms.
