WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app worldwide and it's filled to the ridge with features that are admired by its 1.5 billion users. The facebook-owned messaging platform has released a range of features. It is straggling its rivals like Telegram where at least certain features go.

WhatsApp needs these five features desperately to enhance its user experience.

Dark Mode: It is rumoured from a long time that WhatsApp is soon introducing Dark Mode for its app; however, we are still waiting for it. As per the report, this feature is under progress from a long time and WhatsApp may release it in the next few months. The Dark Mode for WhatsApp will help its users at night.

Disappearing messages: Apps like Snapchat is well known for offering ephemeral messaging, and WhatsApp also needs to introduce this feature. This feature can help the recipient to view the message easily, and it will get deleted automatically after the message is viewed.

Privacy: This is an essential item on our wish list, and WhatsApp is facing problems with its registration process. During this process, those who sign up to WhatsApp need to submit their contact number that is visible to the people on your contact list. The bad part is that there is no technique to hide your mobile number on WhatsApp as it needs a valid number for you to register.

Censorship: Over last few years, WhatsApp is known for spreading fake news and inciting violence, especially in India. WhatsApp is continuously updating with features to keep it above par, but it needs to do a lot when it comes to censorship. The government has also asked WhatsApp to curb these problematical messages. Though this is pretty widespread, WhatsApp needs to work on tracing and killing off these extremist messages from getting circulated.

File transfer limit: WhatsApp has a trivial 100MB file transfer limit. WhatsApp was mocked on social media when they announced to increase the transfer limit from 16MB to 100MB. However, Telegram has a transfer limit of 1.5GB, WhatsApp needs to work on this front seriously to stay in the competition.
