iPhone 18 Pro Launch Nears: What to Expect from Apple on September 9

The countdown to Apple’s "Surprise and Shine" event has officially started. We are five days away from September 9 the date when Apple will unveil its next‑generation iPhone 18 Pro. Judging by the rumours Apple is preparing to break with tradition. We might not see the standard iPhone 18 at the event; instead, Apple could launch it this year. This year Apple might introduce three smartphones: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone—which remains the subject of mere speculation.

However, while the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to feature hardware, an impending global supply crisis could spoil the party. Here is everything we know far, about the iPhone 18 Pro lineup ahead of the big day.

iPhone 18 Pro Design

Let’s start with the thing you notice when picking up a phone: the design. The design of the iPhones will not change drastically just yet. Rumours say that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will keep the 6.3‑inch and 6.9‑inch screen sizes, keep brushed aluminium frames and keep the unmistakable rear camera module. The design might show a thicker camera module according to mockups circulating in the supply chain.

Battery capacity is also trending upward: the US‑bound iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a high‑capacity 5,567 mAh battery (up, from the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s 5,088 mAh); this, combined with the 2 nm chip should deliver battery life for daily use.

An iPhone 18 Pro Price Hike Seems Inevitable

Apple has kept the prices of its flagship iPhone models in recent years but that might not last this year. A recent report from TrendForce shows that memory component costs for the 256GB Pro model have gone up 400% compared to last year.
