The state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has renewed its Android application, “My BSNL App”. The application offers a range of functions that include the payment of bills, fancy numbers and more. There is also a chat feature that allows users to chat with other BSNL users for free.

Here is the list of BSNL application offers:

1. The app is available for non-BSNL users also. Though, they will not be able to get all the app's features.

2. The app will also reward the users for "viewing and engaging with nominated advertising campaigns."

3. BSNL says these reward points can be redeemed later on partner brands or get cash back to select digital wallets.

4. The users will be shown ads based on their interests and preferences, claims BSNL. The app lists 18 categories, including arts, entertainment and politics.

5. Users have the liberty to opt-out of this reward programme any time. There's also an option where users can limit the time and frequency of the ads of their choice.

6. The app enables users to do recharge, pay utility bills and more.

7. As an added benefit from 'My BSNL Rewards membership' BSNL users will also get access to AddFone service, which enables users to call and chat with members of their address book – similar to WhatsApp.

8. Within the BSNL app users can also check their transaction history and payments details.

9. The app will also help users to keep track of the data usage of their plans.

10. There is an 'International WiFi' section in the app which allows BSNL users to access affordable internet when they are travelling abroad.

11. The app gives the privilege of buying 'Fancy Numbers', just like one can buy VIP car number plates.
