The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could finally go beyond the 5,000 mAh limits that the company has held for years. New government documents suggest a battery that has a capacity of 5,534 mAh, which might be sold as a 5,700 mAh battery. The Galaxy S27 Pro is also said to have a battery with a capacity of 5,087 mAh or a listed capacity of about 5,200 mAh. According to reports both phones will have support, for 60W wired charging.

The latest information comes from China's 3C certification records and other battery listings.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra – which is said to have the model number SM-S958 – is listed with a battery that has a rating of 5,534 mAh. This might mean that the actual capacity could be, around 5,700 mAh. Samsung has not officially confirmed that number.
For comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features an advertised 5,000 mAh battery.
This would represent an increase of about 700 mAh (14%) if the leaked figure is officially confirmed.
The Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a 5,200 mAh battery
The Galaxy S27 Pro could also receive a significant upgrade. The phone, reportedly linked to model number SM-S957, is listed with a nominal battery capacity of 5,087 mAh—a figure expected to translate to a marketed capacity of around 5,200 mAh.
This would represent a particularly notable increase if the Pro model retains a relatively compact form factor.
Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the Galaxy S27 Pro or its battery capacity.
Reportedly, both phones will feature 60W charging
The same 3C certification records indicate 60W wired charging for both the Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Consequently, the Ultra model would retain the 60W charging capability introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, rather than receiving a further upgrade.
However, for the Pro model, the 60W rating would represent a new development, according to current leaks.
The certification does not indicate the actual charging speeds the phones will achieve during everyday use; charging curves and sustained speeds will only be determined through testing.
Is Samsung finally adopting silicon-carbon technology?
This is where the situation gets more interesting.
Samsung has been linked to silicon-carbon battery technology for the Galaxy S27 series, following reports regarding the use of this technology in its new lineup of foldable phones.

However, the 3C certification alone does not confirm the battery’s chemical composition. Therefore, reports that link the S27 series to silicon-carbon technology must still be seen as leaks than, as confirmed specifications.
Is 5,700 mAh enough?
That is the big question for Samsung.
A 5,700 mAh battery would represent a significant improvement over the 5,000 mAh cells in the Galaxy S26 Ultra; however, Android rivals are increasingly surpassing the 6,000 mAh mark.
There have even been reports that Samsung tested a Galaxy S27 Ultra prototype with 7,000 mAh, although that capacity was apparently not included in the planned final configuration.
It is also rumoured that some flagship phones from competitors will feature batteries approaching or exceeding 7,000 mAh.
So even though 5,700 mAh would be a jump in battery size for the Galaxy S Ultra line just having a bigger battery doesn't mean the phone will last longer. Things, like how efficient the screen is, how power the processor uses how well the software works and how often the camera is used will also decide how long the battery lasts.
For now, leaked numbers suggest that Samsung is finally going past the 5,000 mAh mark. But until the Galaxy S27 Ultra officially launches and gets tested by labs we won’t really know if that extra capacity is enough to close the battery gap, with its Chinese Android competitors.
