City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Tuesday said all arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections in Hyderabad on April 11 have been completed.

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Tuesday said all arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections in Hyderabad on April 11 have been completed. A total of 15,845 police personnel including 1,200 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) would be deployed on election duty.

He said Hyderabad and Secunderabad Lok Sabha seats completely and Malkajgiri, Chevella seats partially fall under Hyderabad limits covering 20 Assembly constituencies.

Two Additional Nodal Officers of Rank DCP are appointed for each Parliament Constituency. 15 Sub Nodal Officers are identified for 15 Assembly Constituencies at the rank of ACP.

The Commissioner said criticality of polling stations are assigned as S1, S2, S3 critical and normal polling stations based on its weight age. Out of the total 4,022 polling stations in 1,600 polling locations, 475 are S1-critical polling stations in 127 locations, 554 are S2-critical (180 locations), 316 are S3-critical (123 locations).

13 polling stations are identified as vulnerable polling stations and total 432 police routes are planned. Six SSTs and six FSs at each Assembly constituency will be working round the clock to address MCC violations and expenditure monitoring. 60 QRT and 17 SSF teams are formed.

12 Inter border check posts are functioning. 51 check posts will be working on the day of polling at different places. 282 law and order pickets, 93 Interception teams and 20 shadow teams in two Parliamentary Constituencies formed.

On the day of election, a total of 518 check posts and pickets will be functioning. Utilised CAPF optimally in Hyderabad and conducted 226 flag march, vehicle checking was conducted 64 times and confidence building, cordon and search operations also. Security arrangements were made at 15 distribution, reception and counting centres with CAPF.

So far, Rs 20.23 crore net cash (Rs 29 crore in 2018 Assembly elections and Rs 12 crore in 2014 Lok Sabha elections) and Rs 7 lakh worth liquor, ganja, gutka, Rs 9 lakh worth gold and Rs 3.78 worth freebies and other items were seized by the city police. 1,885 binding cases were registered, and 5,530 persons bind over. 933 NBWs executed and 4,618 weapons deposited and 53 MCC cases registered.
