Around 18 crest gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Project lifted about 20 ft due heavy inflow of flood water into the reservoir.
Around 18 crest gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Project lifted about 20 ft due heavy inflow of flood water into the reservoir. The current inflow of water is 5,41,101 cusecs of water. However, the water is released to the down stream with the same outflow.
The water-level of the project touched to 589.30 ft as against the total reservoir level. The present level of Sagar reservoir is 309.55 tmcft at 589.50 feet as against Full Tank Level of 312.045 tmc.
The officials said that people living in the low-lying areas are alerted due to the heavy inflow of flood water. Nagarjuna Sagar is the primary source for drinking water supply to Hyderabad.
