7 Maoist couriers held
The police have arrested seven Maoist couriers and seized explosive material from them at Tativarigudem village of Dummugudem mandal in the district on Wednesday.
Kothagudem: The police have arrested seven Maoist couriers and seized explosive material from them at Tativarigudem village of Dummugudem mandal in the district on Wednesday.
According to Cherla CI T Satyanarayana, on a tip off, a team of police and CRPF 141 Battalion personnel have detained seven men on the outskirts of the village. Ten explosive boosters, 10 electrical detonators and 300 metres of wire, besides an auto-rickshaw was seized from the accused.
During questioning, the arrested confessed that they were Maoist party sympathisers and supplying explosive material to them. They also said they supplied explosive material twice in December 2018. Cherla police booked a case and sent the accused to judicial custody, Satyanarayana said.
