Protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Registration of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR), multiple organisations have called on Bharat Bandh today.
Roads across Nampally were seen empty with the small enterprises and furniture outlets remained closed protesting against the newly enacted law. Shops in the Jagdish market in the city were also closed observing the bandh.
Educational institutions were also closed in some parts of the state expressing solidarity to the bandh. The leaders also asked the shop owners, business establishments to close their operations today to send a message to the centre showcasing that the people of the state are unhappy with the new laws.
