Accuses KCR of opposing CAA for political gain and Muslim votes

Musheerabad: State BJP president Dr K Laxman on Tuesday accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of opposing the recent Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) for political gain and securing Muslim votes.

Launching the 'Ghar Ghar Sampark Abhyas' programme in support of CAA under the leadership of party state executive committee member Pusa Raju in Gemini Colony of Premnagar division of Musheerabad, he said KCR was seeking to create fears among Muslims in an attempt to secure their votes.

Dr Laxman moved from house-to-house distributing pamphlets to residents. He urged them to not to give credence to apprehension on the Act, while advising party activists to propagate CAA by telling people to know facts as 'it is intended to save the country'. He claimed that the NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been boldly striving to solve one problem after another facing the country and working for 'Akhand Bharat ' with the slogan 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas'.

The BJP leader alleged that the opposition parties were making needless allegations against the government with regard to CAA, misleading people and attempting to create arson. He asserted that the CAA would not deprive citizenship of Indian Muslims and that it was intended to give citizenship those Indians from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Party activists Kalakota Arun Kumar, Bharath Goud, Pusa Devender, Ram Reddy, Ravichary Shivaji, Deendayal Reddy, Naveen, Jaipal Reddy, Shakti Singh Madhav and Suresh were among those present.
