Car mechanic held in Hyderabad for killing Class 10 girl in Jadcherla

A car mechanic was arrested by the Hayath Nagar police on Thursday for murdering a Class 10 girl in Jadcherla.
The 15-year-old student was found dead in bushes on Thursday morning at Shankaraiahpalli village at Jadcherla. According to the police, the accused identified as Naveen Reddy (27) befriended the girl on Facebook.
On Wednesday evening, the girl left home around 5 pm to meet the accused who borrowed his friend's car and went to Jadcherla. The police suspected that Naveen had attempted to rape the girl who resisted following which the accused bludgeoned her to death with a boulder.
However, when the girl did not return home, her parents lodged a complaint after searching for her.
During the investigation, the police inquired Naveen's friend who said that he had borrowed car to go to Jadcherla on August 27. The police who arrested Naveen from his residence in Koheda on August 28, questioned him who later confessed to killing the girl.
The police later recovered the girl's body from the bushes and sent for an autopsy. Meanwhile, the accused was produced before a court. Naveen works as a mechanic in a car workshop in LB Nagar.
