Hyderabad: Several activists of Youth Congress have been arrested by the police at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, when they tried to reach Pragathi Bhavan to lay siege to it.
They have taken up the protest to demand the government to protect the State from the bankrupt policies of the TRS government and anti-people activities under 'Telangana Bachao' slogan.
The protest was held under the leadership of Youth Congress Telangana unit president Anil Kumar Yadav. The stir was attended by Youth Congress national leaders BV Srinivas, JB Mathur and PCC senior leaders V Hanumantha Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar.
Addressing the workers of the Youth Congress earlier, Hanumantha Rao, Prabhakar and other leaders said that the government has not been taking up recruitment of teacher posts though thousands have been completing BEd every year.
Closure of 1,200 schools in the State has watered down the hopes of unemployed, they stated.
The leaders alleged that the chief minister has forgotten his promise to provide one lakh jobs.
The government did not keep its promise of providing Rs 3,016 monthly allowance to unemployed.
