Coronavirus new strain in Telangana and AP: Two UK returnees were found infected with fast spreading Coronavirus variant from UK.
Two UK returnees were found infected with fast spreading Coronavirus variant from UK. They returned to Telangana and AP recently and the health departments of two states conducted Covid tests on them after guidelines issued by union health ministry to monitor health condition of all UK returned passengers since last 4 weeks.
After the two passengers tested positive, their samples were sent to CCMB lab for genome sequencing in which the presence of UK variant was detected. While one of them belonged to Telangana, the second infected hailed from Andhra Pradesh.
