Democracy is in danger, says Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka
Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said that democracy was in danger in the State as 12 MLAs of the party have been admitted by the ruling TRS.
Hyderabad: Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said that democracy was in danger in the State as 12 MLAs of the party have been admitted by the ruling TRS.
Addressing the media, he said that while government was supposed to pay floral tributes to author of the Constitution, BR Ambedkar, his statue has been locked up.
No opportunity was given in the Assembly to discuss the issues of the State and it has been turned to become platform for the speeches of the Chief Minister.
MLA D Sridhar Babu said that authorities of Assembly cannot take decision on the defected MLAs as a case was in pending in the court on the issue.
He said that they urged the Speaker to run the Assembly as per rules. He said that about six months have gone by after the presentation of vote on account budget.
He wanted to know when the government would introduce full- fledged budget. He alleged that the Chief Minister has more interest on holding elections to municipalities than solving the issues of the people.
He wanted extension of the session of the Assembly to discuss the issues of the people.
