Focus on women empowerment, education: Sarpanch Anita Vittal Reddy in Kamareddy

Kamareddy: Everyone should focus on women empowerment and providing primary education to all women, stated Dadgi Chinna village sarpanch Anita Vittal Reddy. She held gram sabha in the village, of Bichkunda mandal on Monday.

The sarpanch was angry as the Anganwadi staff are not providing services properly to preschool students and even pregnant and breastfeeding women are malnourished. Stating that ICDS Director will take action to prevent iron deficiency, Anita asked the secretary to write a letter to the District Collector, requesting action to be taken to provide micronutrients to rural women.

Sarpanch Anita asked the parents to take care of their children to prevent them from addicting to liquor.

Sanitation and other issues were discussed during the gram sabha, attended by Upasarpanch Saayavva, gram panchayat secretary Rajaratnam, village revenue officer Raju, ward members and villagers.
