Hyderabad: On the occasion of Sri Vikari Nama Ugadi festival on Saturday, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan conveyed his wishes to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

"On this happy and auspicious occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Day, I extend my warmest greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and to the Telugu people across the world. Ugadi is a festival of joy and hope and the New Year shall bring with it new cheer and a bright future. I am confident that 'Sri Vikari Nama Samvatsaram' will usher in peace, prosperity, harmony and happiness to all people and sections of the society," the Governor said in his message.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao conveyed Ugadi New year greetings to all the people of Telangana. "I pray the Almighty to bless the state and people with happiness and prosperity," he said in a message.
