Burgulu: To educate and create awareness among the citizens about the importance of forests, Council for Green Revolution organised a one-day awareness drive on the occasion of International Forest Day at Chaitanya Seva Ashram auditorium, Burgulu. More than 20 saplings were planted at the Chaitanya Ashram ground. The theme for the event was forests and education highlighting the need for educating the people on the conservation of forests.

CH Ganga Reddy, District Forest officer, Mahabubnagar district, said that protection of the forest is important for sustainable development and citizen should be aware of it and try to protect the forest and its essential resources.

K Purushotham Reddy, renowned environmentalist, chief advisor Council for Green Revolution (CGR) said that society should understand the need of forest. He also said that there was an urgent need to restore all the forest land to improve their productivity.

The dignitaries present in this event were K Leela Laxma Reddy, president of CGR K Purushotham Reddy, CH Ganga Reddy, Dr T Raviteja, NSS, Osmania University, D Deena Shankar, sarpanch, Kasireddy Guda.
