Vikarabad: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam said millets have rich minerals proteins and fiber which improves blood and strength of bones. She paid a field visit to Jaidupalli and Godamguda villages on Wednesday, where millets are being cultivated in a large scale.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said that millets were nutritious food for women and children and asked farmers to grow them on a large-scale. Agriculture Officer Gopal said that millets were suitable for semi-arid zones like Vikarabad and farmers can get benefited by using less water.

ADA Vinod Kumar, AEO Anil, Tharur mandal agriculture officer Jyothi, representatives of Grameena Mall Foundation Sitaram, Vijay Mohan, Sarpanches Yellamma, Sattaiah Goud and farmers were present on the occasion.
