Hanamkonda: Come elections, the BJP leaders invoke deities and temples to create division among the people, Government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar said. Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he found fault with BJP State President Bandi Sanjay for his outburst against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during his visit on Tuesday.

He said that Sanjay needs to hold his tongue instead of using oppressive language against KCR. It's unfortunate that BJP leaders could not see the development taking place in the State, he said. Sanjay needs to tell people how many funds he had brought for the State after he became MP, he said.

Stating that no BJP leader came to help the denizens, when incessant rains wreaked havoc in Warangal city, Vinay criticised the BJP leaders for raising hue and cry over petty issues. He found fault with them to meddle with the government's decision to construct Smriti Vanam in memory of Prof Jayashankar.

Refuting the charges of land grabbing against the TRS leaders, he said that BJP has more expertise in that matter. Wherever elections are around, BJP leaders invoke communal subjects to instigate the people, thereby gaining political mileage, the Chief Whip alleged, referring to Sanjay's recent remarks in which he asked Tirupati voters to choose between the Bhagavad Gita and the Bible. MLA Nannapuneni Narender said that Sanjay was behaving like a gully leader. PrimeMinister Narendra Modi himself lauded the development model in Telangana, he said, advising Sanjay to learn before making a statement.

Aroori Ramesh said that BJP needs to tell its contribution in the development of Warangal. The BJP is overestimating its strength based on its recent victories in Dubbaka and GHMC, but it's not all that easy, he added. Warangal MP Pasunuri Dayakar and Challa Dharma Reddy were among others present.
