Hyderabad: Panic prevailed in Secunderabad Railway Station on Thursday morning when a miscreant informed the police on phone about the presence of bomb in the Lingampalli-Vijayawada Intercity Express.

As soon as they received the call, Railway police along with the city police, bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs rushed to the railway station and conducted thorough checking of compartments, baggage and toilets in the train and on the platform for two hours.

Later, they allowed the train to depart from the station as the officials gave security clearance.

According to Railway police sources, they launched a hunt for the caller reportedly Uday Kiran, who had made the hoax call on Dial-100 and created panic among the passengers.
