The Kapra (ward-I) corporator has thanked his division people for reposing trust in him and vowed that he would take up development works in the right earnest. He listed CC roads, underground drainage line, beautification of Kapra Lake and construction of 10 community halls for Basti Dawakhanas among several identified issues.

He said he is planning to provide a mini function hall at BPL. He would embark on a mission to provide better infrastructure and basic amenities. He's planning to develop burial grounds, construct two mini stadiums at existing playgrounds in the division and to install CCTV cameras at every colony and slum of every circle.

Highlighting the development activities that commenced in the last term, Swarna Raj said, "Almost all the colonies internal roads have been re-laid and all the sewage pipeline developed. These development works had been kept pending for last 30 years.

Three burial grounds that include Ammuguda burial ground, Sai Baba Nagar burial ground, ST and SC burial ground at Vampaguda have been developed. A 5-acre land has been provided for construction of double bedroom houses at Sai Baba Nagar. A total of 37 parks have been developed and 22 kuntas land sanctioned for constructing a Dhobi Ghat at Sai Ram Nagar."

He assured that he would keep fighting for reopening of 21 roads under Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) as locals are suffering hardships in reaching their respective destinations.

Speaking of his new initiatives, Raj said a ward office and a government junior college would be constructed in the division. "I am trying to attract sponsorships from various organisations to modify government schools. I want to see my ward as one of the well-developed ones among the 150 wards under GHMC.

I got immense support from the State government for fulfilling the development activities and I am also expecting the same support in the upcoming term too. I have carried out development works costing Rs 82 crore. I thank ward-1 people for re-elected me as their corporator for the second time. I also want to do something for the youth in education, sports and employment fields," added the corporator.
