Patancheru: Town BJP president Baindla Kumar on Thursday has demanded stringent action against Narayana Junior College management for allegedly adopting a negligent attitude towards student Sandhyarani for three days, leading to her recent suicide.

Speaking after submitting a representation to Tahsildar Mahipal Reddy, he accused the college management of failing to send Sandhyarani to hospital even three days after she complained of fever. It also neglected to inform her parents. He claimed that unable to control pain, the student had committed suicide by hanging.

The BJP leader described as 'shameful' the management's action of placing the body in local hospital mortuary. He blamed the college adamant attitude for the suicide, while criticising a police constable for kicking Sandhyarani's father in abdomen.

Kumar wanted the officials concerned to immediately respond and act against the college and initiate strong measures against it. He was accompanied by town BJP secretary M Rammohan, leaders Gurthi Jagan Reddy, Angadi Balraju, Venkat Rao Pantulu and Mohan Rao.
