Hyderabad: Telangana BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to immediately take steps to handover, one Madhusudhan, who had undergone treatment for Covid at Gandhi Hospital.

Addressing media here on Sunday, the BJP MP rolling out details of discrepancies between the details of the Covid cases by the doctors and the State government said the person in question was admitted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.

Giving details of the incident, Sanjay Kumar said one Iswaraiah was admitted to Gandhi Hospital on April 23 for treatment of Covid and he was reportedly died while undergoing treatment.

On April 29, his son Madhusudhan was admitted with Covid symptoms. The government claims that he was put under ventilator immediately on admission at 3.30 pm. The health bulletin claimed that he was admitted with patient number 10654 on April 30.

Sanjay Kumar said that the government claims he was put under ventilator immediately after admission. But, "his wife had claimed that she had a conversation on mobile with the patient at about 12 noon on May 1."

Further, the wife was also admitted for the positive symptoms but was later discharged. But, on inquiry with the nodal officer of the hospital, she was informed that Madhusudhan was still undergoing treatment.

"The nodal officer continued to inform the same status to the wife of Madhusudhan. However, it was only on May 16 that she was asked to contact circle inspector of police, Vanastalipuram for the status of the patient," he added.

But, despite reported efforts, Madhusudhan's wife could not get any response from the Vanastalipuram police on the status of the patient, he pointed out.

It was against this backdrop that now the family has been living with mental agony for not in a position to know the status of the patient in question, he said.

The BJP leader said that it was one among several incidents in which the records of the hospital are not matching with the government claims. It shows how the government has been trying to suppress the data related to the actual status of Covid.

The government is trying to showcase that the State is on the way to free from Covid. But, what is happening is the opposite and the number of Covid positive cases are going up in the State, he alleged.
