Hyderabad: After being rejected by a woman for marriage due to his unscheduled working hours, a constable from Charminar has submitted his resignation. He further said that he will withdraw it if he gets a promotion.

Siddanthi Prathap, a 29-year-old constable said in the letter that several women have turned down his proposal saying that his job does not have proper career growth and has long working hours.

He said that the higher officials in the department would get faster promotions and other benefits but the constables can't have either of them adding that he had observed his seniors who began their career as a constable and retired as same.

However, he said that will change his decision if promoted. As the higher authorities are busy in security arrangments for Ganesh immersion, a decision on his resignation is yet to be taken, said Prathap.
