Hyderabad: Around 150 families received food essentials from Healing Train Foundation Trust, Kukatpally, as part of its effort to help those who were affected due to lockdown in view of COVID-19 pandemic at a programme held in First Lancer at Masab Tank on Saturday.

Komal Swaroop, co-founder of the Trust, along with volunteers distributed ration kit to each of the family. Grandson of the Nizam VII, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. The families who received the food essentials thanked the NGO for the support in this difficult time.

Later, speaking to The Hans India, Najaf Ali said this pandemic has brought to the limelight the two sections of society, the rich who can sustain sitting idle at home, while others struggled to find a proper meal for days.

The lockdown also brought heart-warming scenes of people from all walks of life coming forward to help others. "I myself witnessed so many people who came to me and talked about their struggles. Many of them were widows, families without a breadwinner, and underprivileged," he said.
