Hyderabad: Leopard found resting on road at Mailardevpally

Hyderabad: A leopard was found resting on the underpass road at Mailardevpally on Thursday morning. Motorists spotted the big cat at the road median and alerted the police who then alerted the officials of the forest department.

A team of forest department officials rushed to the spot. Station House Officer (SHO) K Sattaiah Goud said that the leopard is believed to have got injured and is not moving around.

Scared of the big cat lying on the road, motorists refused to pass through the road. The police also seized the road and restricted the vehicular entry towards the roads. Meanwhile, the local people rushed to the area to catch a glimpse of the big cat. Further details are awaited about the incident.

However, as the crowd increased, the leopard got scared and ran into a farmhouse nearby before injuring a man. The man who suffered a few scratches was shifted to a hospital. Efforts are underway to tranquillize the leopard and shift it to the Nehru Zoological Park for treatment
