Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy fired a salvo at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the latter's failure in strengthening the farming sector.

Addressing the press at party head office Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress leader questioned the delay in the waiver of loans taken by the farmers. The Chief Minister promised of waiver of loans up to Rs 1 lakh. The TRS government completed 1 year 7 months in the rule in the second term and the waiver scheme remain on the papers.

Reddy alleged that the State Government has been cheating the farmers on all issues. The implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme was erratic. The scheme was meant to provide investment support to farmers at the beginning of cropping season. But it is being treated as reimbursement scheme where majority of farmers are being paid money after the end of season.

Citing instances, he said in Nalgonda division, of Rs 62 crore, only Rs 35 crore were released to the farmers under the scheme. The TPCC chief also said that the newly launched regulated farming will drive the farmers into more trouble.
