Inner Wheel Club adopts 5 white peacocks
Inner Wheel Club Secunderabad president Meena Gupta, along with members of the club, visited Nehru Zoological Park in Bahadurpura on Tuesday and offered to adopt 5 birds (Peacock’s white) in the zoo for a period of one year.
Bahadurpura: Inner Wheel Club Secunderabad president Meena Gupta, along with members of the club, visited Nehru Zoological Park in Bahadurpura on Tuesday and offered to adopt 5 birds (Peacock's white) in the zoo for a period of one year.
She also presented a cheque of Rs 20,000 towards the adoption of the five birds to N Kshitija, curator, Nehru Zoological Park.
Kshitija thanked Meena Gupta, Vijay Lakshmi Shekhawat, Committee Member, Vinodini Agarwal, Treasurer, Usha Jaiswal and others for showing interest in adopting the birds for the consecutive 4th year, thereby strengthening wildlife conservation programme in the zoo.
She also appealed to the citizens to come forward in more number towards the adoption of animals in the zoo.
Meena Gupta said that, "She is very much impressed by the way the animals are taken care of, because she had been to many zoos in the world but in comparison Hyderabad zoo is the best."
