Inter results: BJP seeks Governor's intervention

Warangal: Even though a spate of suicides by Intermediate students after the declaration of exam results had rocked the State, the TRS government is yet to take action against those, who involved in the goof up, BJP leaders. who tried to enforce city bandhon Thursday said.

Former Mayor and senior BJP leader T Rajeshwar Rao urged Governor ESL Narasimhan to order an inquiry into the goof up of Intermediate results that led many a student take extreme step.

The Governor should dismiss the Minister for Education G Jagadish Reddy, who is unwilling to take up moral responsibility over the fiasco.

It has become a trend for the ruling party leaders to counterattack instead of accepting their failures, he said, referring to TRS working president KT Rama Rao. "Instead of responding over the goof up, KTR is coming down heavily on Opposition leaders, accusing them of blowing the issue," former Mayor said. The government should provide Xerox copies of answer sheets to the students so that they could check their performance, he said.

Even though several students committed suicides after the Intermediate results were declared on April 18 and the entire State was shocked, the TRS government is yet to take action against those who led to the situation, senior BJP leader and former minister Gunde Vijayarama Rao and party State general secretary Chintha Samba Murthy said. The leaders said that KCR is behaving like a dictator. KCR doesn't even want Opposition to rise their voice against his government, the leaders said, accusing the TRS government of suppressing their protests. The leaders demanded a criminal case against the Globarena company for bungling the results.

The leaders questioned why the government failed to take action against the Board of Intermediate Education and Globarena even after the three-member committee found fault with them. The negligence and incompetency of the authorities affected a total of 9.74 lakh of students appeared in the Intermediate examinations, the leaders said. T Rajeshwar Rao, Gunde Vijayarama Rao, Chintha Samba Murthy, BJP State secretariat member Rao Amarender Reddy, senior leaders K Santhosh Reddy, Vinod, P Rajendraprasad, K Satyanarayana, G Koteshwar, Mahesh Goud, P Suresh, Rajesh Khanna and Sekhar were among others who were arrested by the police.
