It is parents who ensure life: Collector M Prashanthi

Nirmal: It is the parents who ensure life and sons should take care of their aging parents and take their responsibly, said District Collector M Prashanthi addressing the International World Senior Citizens Day held at the Collector Conference Hall in Nirmal district on Tuesday.

Participating as the chief guest, the Collector said the parents give knowledge and affection to their children and educate them to make their children a good citizen.Having grandparents at home will give courage to children and parents. Parents make sacrifices for the future of their children, and Kutumba Dharma is greatest among all dharmas and that should be followed, said the Collector.

Everyone should develop love and affection for the aging parents and respect the elderly people. He said awareness should be created on the rights of elderly people. She assured the elderly people that she would construct a hostel building for them before the next International Day of older people.

She instructed the Nirmal DRO to identify a place for the construction of hostel for old people. Till then make temporary arrangements at the BC hostel building before the end of December. The Collector felicitated elderly people on the occasion.ICDS, elderly people development officer G Rajagopal, RDO Prasunamba, Veera Buchaiah, Ashanna and others were present.
