Jharasangam: The 'Jalashakti Abhayan' scheme has been introduced to preserve every drop of water in villages, said DRDO District Officer Srinivas Rao. The programme was hosted at the Praja Parishad Conference Hall, here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivasa Rao said that under the Jalashakti Abhiyan, employment guarantee of three months for each person, along with improving groundwater harvesting will be taken up. He also said to sarpanches that if a village wants more water harvesting pits, ponds etc., under this scheme, then it will get more works for the people.

PD Mothi K Narsimhulu, DM&HO Mojiram Rathod, deputy DM&HO Gayatri Devi, Zaheerabad RDO Ramesh Babu, tasildar Amin Singh, MPDOs Sujata, Sumathi, Mandal Health Officer Majid, APO Rajkumar, ZPTC Vineela Naresh, MPTC Katike Devadas, various Panchayat Secretaries, Sarpanches and others participated in the programme.
