The Jammikunta police station in Karimnagar district has been ranked 10th among the top 10 best police stations in India for 2020.
The Jammikunta police station in Karimnagar district has been ranked 10th among the top 10 best police stations in India for 2020. The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday announced the list of 10 best performing police stations across the country. Last year, Choppadandi police station garnered 7th rank.
The Government of India is giving away grades police stations and assessing their performance based on feedback since 2015 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the directions of Directors General of Police during a conference in Kutch.
This year, the government shortlisted the police stations which performed best in addressing crimes such as property offence, crime against women, crime against weaker sections, missing persons, unidentified dead bodies.
Around 750 police stations from each state have been picked up of them, one or two police stations were shortlisted. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the top 10 best police stations among 16,671 police stations across the country.

Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy congratulated Karimnagar district commissioner of police Kamalasan Reddy and station house officer of Jammikunta. He said that all the other police stations across the state should be inspired by Jammikunta PS and practice friendly policing and public services.
