Hyderabad: Opening of more business establishments, permitting cabs to operate for transportation of staff of IT companies and government employees and also permitting people to use their personal vehicles like cars to travel across the state.

As far as travel by own cars is concerned, the number of passengers will be restricted. A decision regarding this will be taken at a high-level meeting on Friday.

The meeting to be chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will also discuss the stimulus packages announced by the Union government for Medium and Small Industries, Agriculture and other sectors.

The Secretaries of all key departments have been asked to submit the status of resumption of activity in their respective wings and the challenges being faced to bring the normalcy in every sector.

Official sources said that resuming public transportation, including RTC, will be on the agenda in the meeting.

The government is seriously thinking of permitting the private transportation mainly cab services in the select areas during the working days.

Since the government has permitted that 33 percent of workforce can work from office, it is felt that without transportation facility it would not be possible for the employees to reach their offices.

Officials said that resuming entire trade activity in all municipalities is also under consideration. Currently, 50 per cent of the business establishments were permitted to open on alternative days in the urban local bodies.

The government has already permitted construction, property registrations, RTA certification and liquor sales."Job crisis will be aggravated if the private sector did not resume its functioning.

Among them, travel, hospitality and labour intensive business establishments are important," a senior official said.

The Chief Minister is keen to bring the functioning of all sectors on track by strictly adhering safety measures to avoid the spread of deadly virus before the last day of the lockdown on May 29.
