Hyderabad: In a move to give a big fillip to the farming sector, the State government is set to bring a comprehensive Agriculture Policy soon. To achieve the desirable results in the farming sector through the policy, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to hold a day-long interactive session with the officials of State Agriculture department soon.

The meeting will discuss the challenges being faced by the farmers as well as the government in promoting the farming as a profitable profession. The Chief Minister conducted a high-level meeting with officials here and reviewed the progress in the procurement of paddy from farmers. He discussed the proposal to introduce alternative crop system to ensure that farmers get more income and reduce the input cost incurred on farming every season.

KCR said that the irrigation facilities, free power supply to agriculture and input subsidy including cash incentive under Rythu Bheema will put an end to the woes of the farming community. The only big challenge before the farmers is the adoption of scientific method of cultivation of crops which draw good market value and yield monetary benefits.
