Karimnagar: Lecturer thrashed for misbehaving with student
An engineering college lecturer, who allegedly misbehaved with a girl student, was beaten up by locals and students on Tuesday in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district. The lecturer was identified as Venkatesh of Sri Chaitanya Engineering College.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the girl, who was studying engineering course in Mahishmati Engineering College, was writing engineering first year advanced supplementary examinations at Sri Chaitanya Engineering College. Lecturer Venkatesh started misbehaving with her when she was writing the exam. The girl was unable to tolerate him, came out of the examination centre and informed her fellow classmates.
When the locals and students asked the lecturer about his misbehaviour, he answered rudely. Then the locals and students beat him in public and handed over him to the police.
Meanwhile, BJP district women wing leader Banda Anitha demanded the government to take severe action against lecturer Venkatesh. Otherwise they would intensify the agitation until the college is seized, she warned.
