Nalgonda: Minister Kishan Reddy extends Centre's support to Col Santhosh Babu's kin
Pays tributes to martyr for his sacrifice
Nalgonda: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said the Centre, the Indian Army and the people of the country will stand by the side of the family of Colonel Santhosh Babu.
The Union Minister along with former State BJP chief Dr K Laxman and party MLC N Ramachander Rao called on the family members of the Colonel who had laid down his life for the country at the Galwan Valley during the standoff with China.
Later, addressing the media at Suryapet, Kishan Reddy said he has met the family members of Col Santhosh Babu following a direction from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express condolences and assure the family that the Centre and the armed forces will extend their full support to the family.
Paying tribute to Col Santhosh Babu for showing exemplary valour in reaching high ranks in the army and making ultimate sacrifice for the country, the Union Minister said he made every Indian indebted to him.
"The entire country is responding in anguish and anger on the way the Indian soldiers were killed and condemning the same."
"Besides, people are coming out expressing to voluntarily to give up Chinese goods," he added. Kishan Reddy said that the Prime Minister is holding talks with the heads of other countries and key ministers of his Cabinet. He also spoke to all other political parties. "The sacrifices of the soldiers would not go waste. The army was given free hand to respond to any misadventure of the Chinese and to deal with it based on the developments and location situation," the minister said.
