Nalgonda, Suryapet bid goodbye to Ganesha

Nalgonda/Suryapet: Ganesh idol immersion processions were conducted amid elaborate security arrangements across Nalgonda and Suryapet districts, with officials deploying police personnel and emergency teams at major immersion points.

In Nalgonda district, authorities identified 28 immersion points, where a total of 6,184 Ganesh idols were scheduled for immersion. Around 1,000 police personnel were deployed to ensure the processions and immersion ceremonies passed off smoothly.

Major immersion points included the Musi, Vallabha Cheruvu at Vadapalli, the 14th Mile Stone near Halia, Vemulapalli and Pedda Kaparthi. Cranes were arranged at major locations to facilitate safe immersion of large idols. SDRF personnel, trained swimmers and medical teams were also stationed at immersion points to respond to emergencies.

The Police, Revenue and Municipal departments worked in coordination to oversee the arrangements. CCTV cameras were installed at important locations to monitor the processions and immersion activity, while SHE Teams were deployed as part of the security measures.

Nalgonda District Collector B Chandrasekhar and Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar formally initiated the Ganesh idol immersion procession at Hanuman Nagar in Nalgonda Old City.

Officials monitored the movement of processions and instructed field-level teams to ensure safety and prevent inconvenience to the public.

In neighbouring Suryapet district, Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy initiated the Ganesh idol immersion procession. Police, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police K. Narasimha, made extensive security arrangements at procession routes and immersion locations. Ganesh idols from various localities were immersed in designated local water bodies across the district. Suddala Cheruvu in Suryapet town and Pedda Cheruvu in Kodad were among the prominent immersion points, with officials coordinating arrangements for the orderly completion of the festivities.

Parvatham Ashok secured the Vinayaka Laddu at the auction held at the ‘Number One’ statue in Nalgonda district headquarters for Rs 5,11,000.
