Nizamabad: The leaders of student unions demanded 30 per cent allocation for education in the State budget, at a round table meeting held here on Sunday by PDSU city committee.

The leaders criticised that the TRS government has been announcing free education from KG to PG on one hand, and on the other it is closing government schools on the pretext of lesser students' strength. They pointed out that the government forgot to include government educational institutions in the budget. The government has failed to provide infrastructure in public schools and they also recalled about the instances where accidents took place in many public schools.

The student union leaders said that it is the responsibility of the government to strengthen the schools. They demanded the State government allocation of 30 per cent of its funds to public education institutions across the State.

PDSU district vice-president Jannarapu Rajeshwar, IFTU presidential secretary LB Ravi Sivakumar, SFI city presidents Mahesh, NSUI district president Venu and PDSU leaders Krishna, Pawan, Premchand and others participated at the round table meeting.
