Hyderabad: Doctors fraternity from Telangana continues to raise their voice against the NMC (National Medical Commission) bill. As per IMA call to conduct nationwide protests till July 29, junior doctors from Osmania Medical College and Gandhi Medical College as well as resident doctors from NIMS, Panjagutta staged demonstrations on Tuesday.

Resident doctors at NIMS burned the copies of NMC bill. Dr G Srinivas from NIMS demanded that the Centre drop the clauses that are set to affect the scores of medical students and aspirants. He hoped that the Centre would take notice of the young doctors' concerns and take remedial measures accordingly.

Junior doctors at Osmania and Gandhi echoed similar sentiments. Dr Arjun, Dr Khizer Hussain, Dr Nagarjuna, Dr Lohit and Dr Kalyan from Gandhi hospital alleged that Draconian NMC lacks national character. It is anti-poor, anti-federal, anti-democratic and is against Parliamentary Standing Committee's recommendations, they alleged.
