Non-tribals' hostility to cost heavy for TRS

The non-tribals were unhappy with the ruling party, which failed to settle their land issues.
They clarified that they will not vote for the TRS in the LS elections until they were assured of a clear mandate to solve their problems.
The population of non-tribals is higher in Agency mandals - Echoda, Bazarhathnoor, Utnoor, Narnoor, Jainoor, Gadiguda, Sirpur-U, Kerameri, Indervelli, Jainoor, Gadiguda Vankidi and Tirani mandals - under Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency.
There is a ban on land dealings in these areas under the 1/70 Act, which protects the land owners, who have pattas.
Thousands of acres are being cultivated in these areas and pahanis were given to their lands since their grandfathers' time. These names were registered in revenue records.
But after the TRS government came to power, the non-tribals, who have been cultivating poramboku lands, were not entitled to that land.
They were unhappy with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who promised to settle the problems of non-tribals during the last Assembly elections. This may show a profound impact on the faring of TRS in the Lok Sabha polls.
To strengthen their issues, the non-tribal welfare union has decided to organise a public meeting to demand justice for the non-tribal farmers living in agency areas.
The union leaders alleged that the ruling party leaders had banned their public meeting.
They said that the Chief Minister himself promised to solve the problems of non-tribal farmers living in agency areas but failed to fulfil it.
Now they are demanding the government to come out with a clear assurance to solve their land issues, then only they will vote for it in the LS elections.
Now it is up to the government to take a decision quickly in order not ot lose votes of non-tribals.
Speaking to The Hans India, non-Tribal welfare union leader (who did not want to mention his name) said that the government is not issuing them any documents to the lands they have been cultivating. Due to which, they were unable to get crop loans like other farmers, he added.
He reminded that the Congress government during its rule issued pahanis to a few of them and their names were registered in the revenue offices and now the situation has changed after the TRS came to power. The leader requested the CM to solve their land problems.
